JBarkerDesigns is my own graphic arts and illustration startup, with a bit of web design thrown in on a very limited basis. For those who want to know, I'm an artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and architecture student based in Tampa, Florida, seeking to provide quality service for the sake of pursuing an honest living. A good deal of my skills are the result of self-education and extensive hands on experience in the industry.
I have been drawing since a very early age, and consider that, along with cooking and writing, to be my primary hobby. I've been painting for a long time as well, with particular focus on watercolors. I have explored other areas of fine and commercial art, including collage, sculpture, music, performance, short story writing, and more. Drawing and painting, however, are my primary focus in this area, and I consider illustration to be one of my primary services.
I have been using Adobe software since the days of Photoshop 3, and I am primarily self taught, though I've had formal instruction as well. My software skills include most of the Adobe creative suite programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and some limited skills with Flash. I am also generally skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
